T'ai Chi Ch'uan with
Rono the T'ai Chi Guy

In 1979, my Teacher, Terrence Chan, gave me this list of the Yang Style, Long Form, which consists of 108 moves.

Practicing Traditional Yang Style, Long Form.

Learning T'ai Chi Ch'uan requires humility, self-discipline, and patience. The first step begins with your decision to learn.
Do not beat yourself up during the learning process. Be patient. Not everyone learns at the same pace. That's O.K.
Some people are visual learners; some are audio learners; and others are kinesthetic learners (who learn by doing). I incorporate all three learning styles into my teaching method.
Everyone begins with the first step. T'ai Chi Ch'uan is graceful and slow, yet powerful and precise. The objective is contiuous, flowing, slow motion, from beginning to end Ë— with the focus of a hawk watching its prey.
Tell yourself you can't, and you won't.
Tell yourself you can, and you will!
Over the years, my students have ranged in age from 4 to 92. So, there is no excuse. If you want to learn, you will! All it takes is the desire to do so, regular attendance, and regular practice.
With regular practice of T'ai Chi Ch'uan, your balance and health will improve, your body will get stronger, you will acquire greater flexibility, and due to the deep, slow breathing of our practice, your lung capacity will increase.
See you in class! Bring a family member or friend Ë— practicing at home or in a park between classes with a partner makes the learning process even more fun.
